How Do You Make Sugar Wax Without Lemon Juice?

This sugar wax paste is thick and does not require sugar wax strips. It holds well and removes hair without the need for wax strips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of water

Tools

  • Pan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Cutting board

Instructions

  1. Put sugar, salt, water, and vinegar in a pan. Stir and put the pan on the stove.
  2. Boil the sugar wax over medium heat and keep stirring until it starts to boil.
  3. After a while, the mixture will become light and syrupy but not yet brown. Don’t stop stirring, though, and keep a close eye on it.
  4. The sugar wax is ready when it turns brown. Take the pan off the stove and place it on a folded dish towel or wooden cutting board.
  5. Use a wooden spoon and continue stirring the wax until it begins to cool and thicken.
  6. Pour the sugar wax into a glass jar.

If you let it cool completely in the pot, it may be difficult to get it out, and most of it will be wasted.

How To Remove Body Hairs With Sugar Wax

1. Prepare To Wax

You can’t just knead and apply the wax to prepare the skin. It will stick to the surface you put it on and make it hard to clean.

So we suggest that you first prepare your skin by following these steps:

  • Take off any clothing that might get in your way before waxing.
  • Then fold up some paper towels. Three or four pieces will do. Use them to dry sweat and oil on your skin, preventing the wax from sticking to your hair.
  • If you are epilating your legs or underarms, you can sprinkle a little baby powder on them.

2. Knead the Wax

Once your skin is ready for depilation, it’s time to knead the wax.

  • First, wet your fingertips a little,
  • Put some sugar wax on your moistened fingers or palm,
  • Then fold and separate it with your fingers until it is soft and sticky.

3. Apply the Wax

  • First, make sure your room or bathroom is well ventilated. Moisture and body fat prevent the wax from sticking to the hair. This leads to pain and a longer depilation session.
  • Then, pull the skin together, apply the wax against the direction of hair growth, and quickly pull it off.
  • Apply the sugar wax to all the hairs until no hairs are left to remove.
  • Then proceed with the post-depilation care.

4. Tips & Tricks for Sugar Waxing

  • When you apply the sugar wax to your skin, make sure that you squeeze the skin firmly.
  • This will allow the wax to spread well, and you will have a clean and painless epilation session.
  • If the skin isn’t tight, the wax will stick to the hair, but it won’t pull it off cleanly. And that can be very painful.
  • In some cases, the depilatory paste stretched, others on the hand, and still others stuck to the hair, especially in the bikini area.
  • The only way to remove it was to reapply the wax and hope it would stick to the wax you have on your body and come off cleanly.

5. After Waxing

After waxing, always make sure to clean your skin gently but thoroughly. Follow the steps below to do so:

  • Although waxing removes hair by the root, you may miss a few hairs, so use tweezers to pluck them out.
  • Exfoliate your skin with a gentle scrub afterward. We suggest making a thick paste of baking soda mixed with honey.
  • Apply the paste to your skin, rub it in and leave it on for about 10 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water.
  • Exfoliating with baking soda and honey removes dead skin cells and bacteria and keeps your skin soft.
  • You can apply some aloe vera gel or shea butter cream to soothe your skin after you rinse off the baking soda.
  • Wear loose clothing and don’t wear clothes that rub against your skin. And if you just waxed your bikini area, don’t wear underwear all day.

6. How to Store Sugar Wax

  • Always use a microwaveable glass jar to store your homemade sugar wax.
  • You can store your depilatory wax in the fridge.
